ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY FALL 2026 REPORT

On the morning of Saturday October 3rd members of our Club gathered to clean our two miles of adopted highway 115 south of Harrisburg. The weather was clear with a wind out of the south. Our four miles of ditches were dry. The grass was long and I am certain shielded some trash from our vision. The good news is that we will be back in the Spring and the trash will have nowhere to hide in the short grass.

Joyce and Cheri invoked the “you can keep what you find” rule and took home a hub cap and a Buick emblem. One person’s trash is another’s treasure?

On our arrival at Dareo’s Pizza we found our table ready to go and our pizza’s coming out of the oven. Although I refer to Nicole as our “new” waitress at Dareo’s, she confided that she has worked there for 30 years. We enjoyed great service, good food, good friends, and conversation.

Thanks Larry and Kathy for driving our group down and back to our ditches. Thank you C&R Supply for letting us dispose of our trash in your dumpsters.

Thanks to the following members who participated this Fall: Kathy Miller, Dusty Miller, Larry Mortenson, Joyce VanDerWilt, Cheri Beyer, Mike Skiles, Patti Fox, and Don Fox.

Respectfully submitted,

Dusty Miller
