Prez Sez - October 1, 2026
The Seasons are Changing!

The seasons are starting to change that but doesn’t mean that it’s time to put the Corvettes away just yet! There are still many opportunities to shine the car, gather some friends and join in any of the upcoming Club activities as we round out the year.
Please mark your calendars to take part in the final events of the season:
Saturday, Oct. 3: USD Dakota Days Parade, Vermillion
Sunday, Oct. 11: Lamb Roast / Membership Meeting, Brandon (Abdulah’s shop)
Oct. 15 – 19: Extended road trip / fall color run to Redwing, MN, drive down along the Mississippi River to Galena, IL
Saturday, Oct. 24: Augustana Vikings Day Parade, Sioux Falls
Saturday, Nov. 14: Annual Banquet, The Social, Sioux Falls

More information will be shared via CHIPS email blasts and on the Events Calendar so please be on the lookout.
Officer Nominations: If you are looking for a great way to engage with, and to help guide the club, consider serving on the Board of Directors. We are currently seeking to fill the Vice President and Spring Rally positions. We are also looking for a person to assist our CHIPS Editor, Ryan Berg, with our social media content (Facebook & Instagram). If any of these opportunities are of interest, please reach out to myself, or any of our Board members, to learn more. We will present the 2027 slate of officers at the October 11 gathering, with the election taking place at the banquet in November.
A couple reminders: Now is the time to renew your membership for 2027. Our Treasurer will be recovering from a surgery in late November and December so we’d kindly ask that you either bring your 2027 dues to the October 11 meeting/lamb roast at Abdulah’s shop, or mail them to Elaine by the end of October. Dues for 2027 are $140/couple, or $115/single. Checks can be mailed to:
Sioux Falls Corvette Club
Elaine Robinson, Treasurer
PO Box 994
Mitchell, SD 57301
The annual banquet is scheduled for Saturday, November 14 and it promises to be a great evening! The event is free to our members but we do need a deposit and an RSVP by the end of October. If you would, please bring a check to the Oct. 11 meeting, or send a check to Elaine at the address shown above for $30/per person and indicate your meal preference, either prime rib OR a pork chop. When you come to the banquet you will receive your check back. However, if you RSVP and do not show up, we will need to cash the check as the caterer will be billing the club for all meals requested via RSVP. So please take a moment take care of the dues and banquet RSVP either in person at the October 11 meeting or via mail by the end of October.

I ended last month’s Prez Sez with a bit of info on the new Grand Sport and I am happy to say that I actually spotted one out at the September Cars & Coffee at the Tea airport earlier this month! I didn’t get a chance to meet the owner but hopefully we’ll have the opportunity to welcome them into the club. Speaking of welcoming new members into the club, at the Cars & Coffee there

were over 40 Corvettes in the show, with most of them not being part of the SFCC. There is so much potential to invite new members to join this fantastic club so if you come across a Vette and do not know the owners, ask them to check us out. We have great information on Facebook and our website, including the ability to join on-line and to view our entire Events Calendar.
Save the wave!
