SFCC FALL COLOR RUN
Oct 15,16,17,18
Red Wing, MN to Galena, IL
THANK YOU Denny & Elaine Robinson for planning what promises to be a great Fall Color Run for SFCC members and guests.
If you plan to join us for some great two-lane roads to see the fall colors along the Mississippi and Root rivers please do two things soon, because rooms are filling quickly especially in the Galena area.
Reserve your rooms in both Red Wing, MN and Galena, IL area and then text Mike Skiles to let me know you have rooms and plan to attend. (605-610-5791).

TRIP PLAN
Oct 15. Caravan departs from Abdula’s shop at 9 AM. Travel I-90 and I-35 to Faribault exit and then take two lane roads to Red Wing. Optional tours are the bank that Jessie James robbed in Northfield, Red Wing Pottery Factory, Red Wing Boot Factory. We’ll try to find a place for a group dinner that evening.
Oct 16. Caravan departs the Holiday Inn Express parking lot at 8:30 for a scenic drive along the Mississippi on the WI. Side to Galena. We should arrive early enough to explore Galena shops etc. for a few hours before heading to the motel. No planned dinner.
Oct 17. You have the entire day to explore the many shops, restaurants, wine tasting, museums, historic houses, etc. We will try to plan a group dinner in Galena.
Oct 18. Your choice, stay another day or head home. Options along the trip home are: the Field of Dreams Baseball field in Dyersville, IA, Effigy Mounds National Monument, or just follow the scenic route north toward La Crescent, MN, turn west on Hwy 16 through Houston, Rushford, Lanesboro following the Root River and then head for I-90 for some boring interstate driving homeward.
Questions and details will be discussed at upcoming SFCC meetings.
