Greetings:

We have a couple of updates to let you know about, including a few event updates which are shown on our newly refreshed website’s Events Calendar page. We encourage you to visit our Events Calendar to stay abreast of the latest happenings for our club.

Car events prior to the September 27th General meeting:

1. Cars and Coffee at Schulte Subaru is Saturday, September 9th 9-noon.

2. The get together (Drive & Dine) to Palmer’s Candy scheduled for Saturday, September 16, has been canceled due to another event being worked on for a different date. Stay tuned for details.

3. Augustana University has requested Corvettes for their Homecoming Parade on Saturday, September 23, beginning at 10:00 AM. If you are interested in driving your Corvette in the parade (28th and Grange to 33rd and over to Summit Ave.) please let me know, (call or text) 605-321-7823 for a car count and how many passengers you are willing to take.

A BIG THANKS to the folks that made the run to Eagle Butte on August 19th. We were a BIG hit and they couldn’t thank us enough for making the long trip. There were probably 150 students there, all wanting a ride, but unfortunately due to number of cars and time, we couldn’t give rides to all. This event was put on privately by the City Attorney, (out of her own pocket) as a positive reinforcement for the kids in the community. Thanks to Paul and Lori Dyke and Brad Haase for making the trip with me. Mike & Barb Hardy attempted but ran into potential car problems at the Salem exit, so returned to Sioux Falls. We all agreed the trip was well worth it!!

We will have two more general meetings this year, September 27 (Ramada), and October 15 (Meeting in Motion to The Blind Butcher). We will hand out a survey at the September meeting to seek your input on what you liked in 2023 or would like to see changed in 2024.

The October meeting will include nominations for Board officers for 2024. We have scheduled the traditional Fall Banquet for Saturday, November 11th (more information to come) when we will finish nominations and elect the 2024 Board. As has been the custom, we will not have November or December general meetings but will hold a December Board Meeting. The 2024 schedule will be set at the December Board meeting and announced in January.
