Comparing Corvettes: 1987 vs 2017

30 Years Has Increased Performance And Decreased Price

Is it possible that the 2017 Corvette could offer increased performance and technology at a price that’s less than the 1987 model? This year’s car delivers 455 horses and 460 lb-ft of torque, yet, when adjusted for inflation, the MSRP of the 2017 Corvette is nearly $5,000 less than the 1987 Corvette.

Nowadays, the 1987 C4 is one of the lowest priced used Corvettes you can buy. They often sell for only $5,000 - $10,000. That’s not bad for the horsepower, torque, and overall fun the car still offers.

Other than price, how do the base models, with a span of 30 years between them, compare? (Thanks to BRIDJIT Curb Ramps for this great comparison chart)
