WHEELS TURNING TOUR: CORVETTE/CAMARO/QUESO CARAVAN - 9/19/2021

Kerry Dendinger, a longtime friend of Barry Konken and family, has invited the SFCC to join them on a Corvette/Camaro Cruise with a variety of fun stops, scenery, a meal and a good excuse to socialize.

Barry’s mother, Delores maintains a large display of model cars and tractors collected by Gerald through his years of enjoying Corvettes and Corvette people.

Our previously planned trip to view Gerald’s collection had to be cancelled due to his failing health.

Plan to join us any part or all of the tour stops on September 19 in memory of Gerald’s life and his interest in all things Corvette.

This Day Trip is designed fit your schedule and interests, so jump in or out when it fits you.

Here’s the plan:

(All times are approximate)

10:00-11:00: Meet at Jerry’s Corvette Center in Beresford for coffee and rolls compliments of Jerry’s.

11:00-12:00: Scenic drive to Yankton along the Missouri River

12:00-1:00: Beverage and Queso break at the Old Mill Saloon. Queso dip and Chips compliments of Kerry Dendinger. Beverages are on your own.

1:00-2:00: Scenic drive to Crofton, NE. Crofton streets will be blocked for Corvette/Camaro parking.

2:00-3:30: Tour the Lewis & Clark Pulley Museum (the world’s largest collection of hay pulleys in the world) and/or Argo Hotel (a film crew is currently working on a documentary on this haunted hotel). Your choice to encounter a ghost or to reminisce about how your grandfather put up hay.

3:30-4:00: Drive from Crofton to Hartington

4:00-4:30: Tour the model car and tractor collection at Delores Konken’s home.

5:00- ????: Big Hair Brewhaus to socialize, have a local brew, pizza or a meal (Beef & Chicken buffet includes salad, potato, veggie, & desert for $17.00).

???? : The drive from Hartington to Sioux Falls is 1 ½ hours
