SEE THE USA IN YOUR CHEVROLET

Remember the old Chevy advertising jingle “See the USA in Your Chevrolet”? The intent was to get Chevy owners to get out and enjoy driving to see all the beauty and history the USA has to offer, which is what a group of 22 Corvette owners did in early June. We met, socialized and departed from Jerry’s Corvette Center to visit Minowi, NE, the only incorporated municipality in the US with a population of ONE. Along the route we enjoyed the simple things in life, like South Dakota sunshine, the site of freshly tilled soil, the smell of freshly mowed alfalfa, plus the sounds of Chevy V-8’s. At Minowi we met Elsie, the sole resident, a group of really nice young 4-wheelers, enjoyed a cold beverage, plus more time to get caught up on how everyone got through the winter and the COVID season. Day Trip events have the added benefit of getting to know new SFCC members like Gale & Judy Horan and Tom & Stacy Daschle.

The views of the Niobrara Valley and the Missouri River at Pickstown and Running Water were great, as was the hospitality provide by Aaron & Sheri Peterson in the Clubhouse of their campground near Gavins Point Dam.
